Hair loss during chemotherapy: what to do?

The wigs:

Wigs discreetly hide your alopecia (related to chemotherapy treatments) without showing your condition, but they don't only have advantages.

In fact, they are warm and can cause itching, which explains why, in reality, few women can really tolerate them.

When your hair grows back, it quickly becomes uncomfortable, the hair doesn't find its place and quickly becomes greasy.

Turbans:

Turbans and hats are a good alternative.

Unlike wigs, turbans or caps will bring you real comfort in life.

  • You can wear them on any occasion without being bothered.
  • They will give volume and elegance to your silhouette
  • Their colors will flatter your complexion and give you a healthy glow.
  • You can match them to your outfit
  • Worn at night, they will prevent your head from getting a cold.

  • Our turbans and hats are made of bamboo fiber to allow your scalp to breathe while maintaining body heat.

They will absorb perspiration which will prevent itching and facilitate the regrowth of your hair.

The turbans and hats we have selected are all soft, comfortable and of very good quality.

Should you shave your hair at the start of chemo?
Shave your hair at the beginning of treatment to prevent them from falling out in handfuls is a possibility.
However, you should know that shaving your hair is often experienced as a psychological and emotional ordeal. I believe, therefore, that the answer to this question is up to you.

Hair regrowth:
When hair grows back, we recommend massaging your scalp thoroughly, paying particular attention to the small hollows.
These hollows are tsubos.
Tsubos are points located along the meridians. Their stimulation allows for better circulation of chi as well as improved blood flow, which will stimulate hair regrowth.
You can use castor oil for massages. It's rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, which will further stimulate hair regrowth. Thick and not very fluid, castor oil can be mixed with another oil (e.g., sweet almond oil) to make it easier to apply.
