Insomnia and cancer, what to do?

Very often, during chemotherapy, corticosteroids are administered, which are anti-inflammatories; these are the drugs that disrupt your sleep.

Here are some tips to help you get more restful sleep.

At dinner:

If you are cooking vegetables, cook them in 2 waters.

Avoid foods that make the kidneys work (too much protein, salt, foods rich in potassium, e.g. potatoes, apples, etc.).

During your treatment, I recommend light meals in the evening to promote more restful sleep.

During chemo, it is possible, depending on your state of health, to consider doing a mono-diet once a week with your evening meal in order to lighten your body during treatment.

Naturopath advice:

You can apply a heating pad to your lower back area. This will support this organ in its work and relieve tension. Don't hesitate to rub your back in the second lumbar region.

In Chinese medicine, the kidneys are linked to fears.

I invite you to maintain gentle physical activity such as walking as much as possible.

Breathing exercises, meditation, and forest therapy will help you relax and calm down.

You can also use reflexology, which will soothe your nights by rebalancing the autonomic nervous system.
